Mangalore: IIPP Confers Community Leadership Award on Fr Denzil Lobo

Mangalore, Dec 25: The International Orientation Center and The International Institute for Public Policy (IIPP) in the city had selected Fr Denzil Lobo, SJ as the proud recipient of the Community Leadership Award for his dedication towards educational excellence in Mangalore.
A ceremony for conferring this prestigious annual award was held at the newly established St Aloysius College MBA Complex at Beeri near Taccode in the taluk, in the presence of a large group of toastmasters and Gavelliers, who were celebrating the charter ceremony of AIMIT Gavel club.
St Aloysius College, which has been moving on the path of educational enhancement, with the latest addition of its state of the art architectural facility at Beeri, was proud to witness one of their own men being conferred with the prestigious recognition by Deepak Menon, the District 82 Governor, who came from New Delhi to present this award, in addition to meeting many other commitments.
The Beeri complex of St Aloysius is bathing in colourful splendour with the beautiful paintings and captions that have arrived from abroad in preparation for its official inaugural in January 2010.
Audio-Visual Facility Inaugurated at AIMIT, SAC, Beeri, Kotekar:
The Audio-Visual Room, built in memory of the late Leticia and Joseph Lobo, was inaugurated recently by Deepak Menon and Max Rasquinha, the donor of the facility.
Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, director of AIMIT blessed the audio-visual room and dedicated it to the memory of his parents.
Family members of Fr Denzil and Rasquinha were present at the inaugural.
Max Rasquinha, an alumnus of St Aloysius College, residing in Houston, USA, has been an ardent supporter of the activities of AIMIT and has taken keen interest in setting up the audio-visual room for the benefit of the students of the Institute.
The facility has a large collection of VCDs and CDs on various developmental topics. He has also decorated the academic, administrative building and the food court with beautiful paintings. A lot of visitors have been coming to see these paintings, which adorn the walls of various buildings. The academic block looks like an art gallery, and visitors are welcome to visit and appreciate the beauty of the campus.
