Pradeep Barboza's Dubai Team Presents 'Sangon Mugdana' in Moodubidri

Moodubidri, Dec 27: Pradeep Barboza, the young and talented actor-director from Dubai staged his hit comedy with his talented actors from Dubai in front of a 3000 strong crowd that had gathered from 13 various parishes of Moodubidri varado at the Alangar church premises on December 26.
The event was organized by SSVP Alagar parish United in association with Udentichim Neketram Dubai under the leadership of Lawrence D'Souza.
The programme officially started with the lighting the lamp at 7pm. Fr Austin Peris, Fr Ronald Cutinho, SVP director, Fr Vincent D'Souza parish priest of Alangar parish, Fr Mark Rodrigues, parish priest of Taccode parish, Fr Edwin Pinto, parish priest of Anegudde, Fr Assisi Rebello, parish priest of Hospet, Fr Cyprian D'Souza, OFM CAP, Walter Nandalike of daijiworld.com were honoured guests on the dais. Udentichi Neketram president Lawrence D'Souza was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Austin Peris congratulated the young talents and organizers of SSVP. He also praised all parishes and representatives of Udentichim Neketram association.
Walter Nandalike hailed the contribution of religious priests and nuns towards Konkani mother tongue. "Their efforts to the language is not always highlighted. Without Konkani masses, choir, retreat etc Konkani language would not have been alive today." he said. He praised Pradeep Barboza and his team from Dubai for sacrificing quality time and putting up this comedy here in the native place.
Lawrence D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Dubai's well known Uttam Menezes compered the stage event.
It was a rare event in the native place where a team from abroad staged a Konkani play with a professional, disciplined and dedicated approach.
The large number of priest and nuns among the audience added charm to the programme.
The play written and directed by Pradeep has received accolades from audiences all around. The play was staged twice in Dubai and Abu Dhabi earlier this year and was rated as one of the best in recent times.
Richard Rodrigues Dubai and Lawrence D'Souza of Al Raen Steel, Sharjah sponsored the event.
The next show will be staged at Kirem parish grounds on 27 December 09.
