Youth Congress launches mask distribution drive


New Delhi, Apr 27 (IANS): The Youth Congress has launched a "MaskPehnoIndia" initiative which aims to distribute masks to the underprivileged people of the country, who are not in a position to buy the masks themselves.

"Earlier the target was to distribute at least one crore masks, but with time IYC has decided to keep distributing these masks, even after the initial target is met and till every everyone has access to these masks. So far, approximately 30 lakh masks have already been distributed throughout the country," said BV Srinivas, President of the Youth Congress.

Youth Congress National Media In-charge Amrish Ranjan Pandey claimed that the organisation is running various campaigns to meet the needs of the underprivileged people, bereft of food, groceries and basic medical supplies, across the nation.

The Youth Congress office at Raisina Road here has been converted into a mega kitchen and is already providing food to thousands of people everyday. The youth wing of the Congress is procuring supplies from its cadres through voluntary donations.
