Abu Dhabi, Apr 28: A circular was issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) instructing the owners and managers of commercial centres and shopping malls in the capital to abide by the set conditions and instructions that the department released in order to re-start their commercial facilities and activities across the three regions of the emirate, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

In the circular, the department directs the management of these commercial centres and malls to conduct special COVID-19 screening for all of their in-store employees to obtain the certification required of negative results before being allowed to re-start their stores and begin work. The conduction of these tests is a primary requisite for being granted permission to resume commercial activities.

According to the circular terms, customers will pass through the main entrance of these centres and malls, where thermal scanning cameras will have been set up. Anyone having fever or high body temperature will not be allowed to enter. This procedure shall be applied to the employees before starting their daily work shifts as well.

Department of Health shall help ease this process by setting up designated examination centres or by identifying times and places where tests can be carried out inside the centres that wish to be open to the public.
