Udupi: SEVA Presents 'Darbar - 2010' at Brahmavar

Udupi: SEVA Presents 'Darbar - 2010' at Brahmavar

Media Release

Udupi, Dec 31: SEVA - Service, Entertainment, Vision, Action, has expressed pride in extending greetings to all the Konkani buffs of Brahmavar.

Of late, the world has become very small. The world is now just a click away, and the people are able to communicate with each other, faster than ever. The advent and subsequent growth of the e-media has changed the way the people look at the world. It has become easier and much more convenient for the people today not only to get in touch with their loved ones instantly, but also be able to know, learn and even adapt to other cultures, religions and traditions.  The pertinent truth that unless one involves himself more with the local cultures and traditions, there cannot be a peaceful and happy coexistence, has dawned on the people. Keeping all these things in mind and with the motive of uniting and enabling people of Brahmavar belonging to all walks of life, who have crossed shores in search of better prospects, to keep in touch with their loved ones and homeland, SAVE has chalked out plans to launch www.brahmavara.com in the coming days.

It is widely known, that more Brahmavarites are living outside the confines of Brahmavar than those living within it. So, www.brahmavara.com will be a forum to link these people with their homeland and vice versa. It will provide a platform for providing updates from in and around Brahmavar, to know about the celebrations going on in their native place, to refresh their memories, to help them to know more about the society at large, and if needed, to help them raise their voices for a cause! This website is not for any particular community or society, but for all those who relate with Brahmavar and for all those who share a bond with Brahmavar. To further and enhance this project, a forum called SEVA has been formed. SEVA is committed to the welfare and cause of Brahmavar. Along with this, SEVA has taken up a special mission of channelling the energies and talents of the present day youth.

‘Darbar’ is the maiden programme that will be presented under the banner of SEVA. 'Darbar' is a delicious mix of melodious music, hilarious comedy and flawless dances.  New Konkani star, Gulf Voice of Mangalore, Vinay Lewis from Kallianpur, teen sensation and renowned singer, Esther Noronha, well-known melody queen Ivy D'Souza, our own young and enchanting Nelson Lewis, along with established artiste, Maxim Pereira of ‘Manasa’ fame, are all set to enthrall the audiences with some romantic and foot-tapping Konkani, Kannada and Hindi numbers. ‘Ocean Kids’, a popular dance troupe which has performed extensively in India and abroad, will be providing the icing on the cake with their elegant fleeting feet. In addition to this, rib-tickling humour skits are sure to keep the people glued to their seats till the very end. So, all in all, it will be a perfect New Year gift for everyone, and one cannot ask for anything better than this package of music and masti.

The organizers of the programme hope and are quite assured that they would be supported generously by the people in their mission and have said that the generosity of the people will help them to dream big for the betterment of the society.
