Gurugram, May 3 (IANS): The coronavirus situation turned serious in Gurugram as six more cases emerged on Sunday, an official said.
Alarmingly, all the cases were reported from different areas of the city. Dr Ram Prakash Jha said that one case each was reported from upscale Aardee City, Sector 39, sector 10, Civil hospital, sector 9 and Ganga Vihar locality near bus stand.
Rising cases of COVID-19 is turning out to be a big concern for authorities. The total number of positive cases reached 72 in Gurugram and only 38 of them have recuperated and discharged from hospitals.
"We have isolated all patients in different hospitals and their families are also placed under quarantine," Jha said.
The overall situation in Haryana is also disturbing with 66 positive cases reported on Sunday. Maximum 18 cases were reported from Sonepat, 12 from Faridabad, 11 from Panipat, 4 from Fatehabad, 2 each from Jhajjar and Yamuna Nagar. Overall, 442 positive cases have emerged across the state and 245 of them were discharged from different hospitals.
Meanwhile, district administration Gurugram, under fresh notification, has decided to open the markets from 7 am to 7 pm.
Amit Khatri, district magistrate of Gurugram said that places like shopping malls, Galleria market, Sadar Baazar will remain closed.
"We have decided to open shops of localities, shops under Haryana Sahari Vikas Pradhikaran. Beauty Parlours can also be opened in certain conditions. The shop owners have to maintain all Covid-19 protocols like social distancing, sanitation, hand sanitizing facilities, wearing face masks," Khatri said.
