14 returned migrants test Covid-19 positive in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, May 3 (IANS): There is a sudden spike in Covid-19 active cases in Chhattisgarh. Fourteen migrant labourers who returned to the state recently tested positive on Sunday.

Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo told the media persons that all of them belonged to Chhattisgarh.

Six of them belong to Kabirdham district and eight hail from Durg districts, he added.

Singh Deo appealed to the people to be sensitive about these patients "as they too are brothers and sisters of the state".

A large number of migrant labourers from Chhattisgarh are still to return from other states. "We should be well prepared to tackle the adverse situation," he said.
