My hats off to Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha for permitting shops to be kept open from 7am to 7pm. This timing is suitable for most people in many ways. There will less rush in the shops and even the shop keepers can do their work much easily. But people should not misuse and abuse these timings.

Those people standing in long queues for Free Ration kits were standing in queue for Liquor. The rich will sustain, the poor people will become lazier and middle class is the only sufferer. Such an irony of life.

Peshu, Manipal, What a mind blowing comment. You have taken everything easily and finally won over MLA Raghupati Bhat. It was a race between a MLA and a minister over the timing of shops to be kept open. Kota Srinivas Poojary your suggestion was suitable for most people in fact for all right from the beginning.

Those who got free ration should not get liquor from Wine Shop and BPL card holder should not get liquor from Wine Shop. If in case they need it then they should pay double the price.

This is how Government can track who is needy of BPL card and free rations.

Movement of people will be allowed between 7 am and 7 pm. Movement of people will not be allowed between 7 pm and 7 am.

Movement allowed for 12 hours in the AM and movement restricted for 12 hours in the Pm. So funny, what difference does that make.

    DC Udupi,

Good proposal...drunkards could buy ration from Grocery shops from 7 AM to 9 AM ....then they can go to Wine shop at 9 AM...
