Mangalore, Jan 3: The annual Eucharistic procession was held with reverence and piety from Milagres parish to Rosario Cathedral today evening.  Bishop Rev Aloysius Paul D Souza presided over the holy mass held at Milagres church this evening.  Udupi Apiscopal Vicar Fr Baptist Menezes, diocesan vicar Fr Denis Moras Prabhu and other priests joined the Bishop in celebrating the Eucharistic mass.

The procession started from Milagres church with an open jeep with the Bishop holding the Holy Eucharist till the procession reached Rosario cathedral, the final destination of the precession.  Thousands of devotees religiously took part in the holy procession chanting prayer hyms and walking along with the motorcade till the procession reached the Rosario cathedral.

Fr Clifford Fernandes, Professor, St Joseph’s Seminary delivered the sermon befitting the occasion at the Rosario Cathedral.  Bishop Rev Aloysius Paul D Souza offered the solemn blessings on the faithful devotees who were present in large numbers. The Bishop also presented awards to parishes which accounted for maximum contributions on the occasion of Mission Sunday.   The Bishop also conducted the closing ceremony of ‘Year of Faithful’ which was solemnized during the annual Eucharistic procession last year on the same occasion.

Fr Boniface Pinto, director of Mangala Jyothi conducted the liturgical service.

Excellent pictures, enjoyed looking at them. I am glad to hear that the Eucaristic Celebration and the Procession went without any problems. This is a wonderful way to show our devotion to Our Lord in the Eucarist and also to show our faith to our other brothers and sisters, no matter what has happend in the past. I wish was there to take part in the Ceremonies. Thanks Daijidubai to your coverage and the pictures.

Thanks 'Daiji' for revealing us this beautiful, grace filled event through Spoorthi Ullal's professional work. The blessed Sacrament - 'The throne of Jesus' glitters like a rising sun in the hands of our beloved Bishop Rev Aloysius Paul D Souza. Similar events be organized regularly to honour our savior and to invoke the faith among followers of Jesus. "Be our shepherd oh dear lord and protect us from the Wolves, Amen".

The huge crowds that participated in the Eucharistic procession is a manifestation of the deep faith and piety of Catholics of our diocese. The hymns sung during the procession with devotion did touch the onlookers from the buildings and the roads. This is a public testimony of our faith and love for the Eucharistic Lord.
