Covid-19: Rajasthan tops with 46.98% recovery rate, says official


Jaipur, May 6 (IANS): With 1,739 coronavirus patients reported in Rajasthan cured of the infection till Wednesday, the state had the highest 46.98 per cent recovery rate in the country, a senior officer said.

While the active cases were 50.51 per cent of the total, the mortality rate in Rajasthan is 2.52 per cent, said Additional Chief Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh.

Overall, the recovery rate in India is 27.66 per cent.

As many as 1,275 patients have been discharged in Rajasthan, with active cases now 1,485, he added. A total of 93 deaths have been reported in the state due to coronavirus, Singh said.

Tamil Nadu has 39.69 per cent recovered cases, Andhra Pradesh 31.69 per cent and Madhya Pradesh 29.10 per cnt.

Punjab has the least recovery rate of 10.39 per cent while its active cases are 87.74 per cent, he said.
