Moodbidri: Incident of Handcuffing Farmers Serious Issue - CM

Moodbidri, Jan 6: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa reiterating state government’s pro-farmer stand said that the government has no intention to hurt farmers and issue of handcuffing farmers at Dharwad has been taken very seriously.
He was speaking to media persons at helipad before leaving to participate at Alva’s Virasat – 2010 on Wednesday, January 6. CM said that police personnel including two constables and one head constable were already suspended relating to the issue and strict action will be taken on other police officers, if found negligent.
The budget will be presented the next month, he said and maintained that the budget will be pro-poor and not burdensome to common man. The budget will prioritize infrastructure, health and education too, he added.
No New Taluks Soon
On a query whether Mulky taluk will be formed as the pressure as heightened from the people of the area, CM said that there is no proposal for formation of any taluks soon and if any will be taken up for discussion only after the budget.
