Bantwal: Ramya Shetty Traced in Sullia – Lover in Judicial Custody

Bantwal, Jan 12: Konaje police have finally traced Ramya Shetty (21) who had gone missing with her married lover, Mohammed (45) in Sullia on Sunday January 10. Both were brought before bantwal JMFC court her on Monday January 11.
The Bantwal JMFC court has remanded judicial custody to Mohammed up to January 21 and Ramya Shetty was sent to Prajna Counselling centre. The Ramya-Mohammed duo was found in a house of a politician in Sullia, working as servants. Both had lied about their identity and name and further Mohammed had introduced Ramya as his wife.
Police informed that the duo was taken into custody at a temple fair in Sullia.
Mohammed, who is married and has three children, fled with Ramya on December 4. Following this, Ramya’s parents had lodged a complaint of kidnap against Mohammed in Konaje police station. Due to delay in investigations, Ramya’s brother filed a Habeas Corpus in the court. Further, the incident was dramatized with Hindu organizations holding a protest in front of the Konaje police station and national highway at Mudipu demanding to trace Ramya at the earliest.
