Devadiga Sangha Felicitates Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily

Mumbai, Jan 12: The 85th annual day celebrations of metro-based Devadiga Sangha was held at the suburban Devadiga Bhavan auditorium, Nerul, here on Sunday January 10.

Speaking about the activities of the sangha, Mohandas said that it has been striving hard for the healthy growth of community by providing all basic facilities.
 

 

Union law minister Veerappa Moily, chief guest for the occasion, inaugurated the medical service centre of Devadiga Sangha.

Dharmapal U Devadiga, hotelier Shyam N Shetty and Devadiga Sangha Dubai office-bearer, philanthropist and entrepreneur Narayan M Devadiga and Mallika Narayan couple felicitated the law minister.

Addressing the gathering Moily said that ignorance of law by majority of citizens in India is the chief cause for the rise in poverty. He added that a country cannot surge on a progressive path when the majority of countrymen are deprived of legal knowledge.

Speaking on the occasion, DHFL Property Services Limited chief executive officer B K Madoor said that “Devadiga community has contributed significantly towards the welfare of the society.”

Dr Praveen Tungenwar, Dr Vijay Surukte, Dr Harshal Gaonkar and Dr Meghna Godse were honoured by the minister on the occasion.
 
MP Sanjeev G Naik, MLA Krishna Hegde, CIDCO director Nam Dev Bhagath and corporator Santhosh D Shetty among others were present.

Ramesh Ullal welcomed the gathering. Sangha president K K Mohandas presided.

Honorary joint secretary of the sangha Sundar C Moily proposed the vote of thanks.
