The awards were distributed by guest of the programme Fr Walter D’Mello, parish priest of Milagres Church, Eric Ozario, Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, Ronald Gomes, president of Rachana, and Machacha Milar, president of Karnataka Konkani Writers’ Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr D’Mello said that the organizations formed outside India are making a wonderful contribution to the mother tongue and Konkani culture. He said that such support and work should continue to help the growth of culture and language.
