Chandigarh, May 18 (IANS): The administration in Chandigarh, which is under red zone, allowed cars and taxis with maximum three persons in a vehicle. Also, its offices will function from 10 a.m. to 5.30 pm daily.
Issuing new guidelines for lockdown 4.0, the administration allowed auto-rickshaws to ply in the city on the condition that only one passenger is carried.
Two-wheelers can ply but without a pillion rider.
The government offices will function with 50 per cent of the officials below the rank of Deputy Secretary.
The Central government offices, offices of neighbouring states, banks, etc., will have different office timings to avoid simultaneous travel by office-goers and congestion on roads.
The private offices are advised to operate with 50 per cent of their staff and encourage their employees to work from home.
All shops in internal sector markets, which were earlier allowed to open on an odd-even basis, will now be allowed to open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except the weekly off day.
City's iconic Sector 17 market is also allowed to operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
However, all malls and multiplexes will remain closed. So will barbers and salons.
The movement of people is prohibited between 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., except essential activities.
