Mangalore: Palemar Inaugurates `Namma Padasale' in DC Office Premises

Mangalore, Jan 26: ‘Namma Padasale’, a unique multi-facility office opened with four counters to make it easy for the members of the general public to get various documents easily, was inaugurated at the taluk office located in the district deputy commissioner's office premises here, by the district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar on Tuesday January 26.
 
The office, set up with the traditional name, `Namma Padasale,’ will serve the people of the district by using computerized and digital equipments. The four counters set up at this office under four categories will serve for issuance of RTCs, caste and income certificates and nearly 23 different types of documents to the needy people. One counter has been earmarked specially for registration and issuance of the tokens, at this new, spacious office.












 
“The purpose of opening this office is to allow easier access for the people to various services, and to enable them to get the documents they need, without having to wait in long queues, as seen in Nemmadi centres and near the taluk offices,” said deputy commissioner of the district, V Ponnuraj, adding that mainly the senior citizens will not need to stand in the queue for long, and that the token system has been implemented mainly for helping them.
 
Indexing and categorizing work of all the documents of the district are expected to be finished within a month  and  2.5 lac out of the five lac documents have already been indexed, and are available for access through ‘ Namme Padasale’, he said.
 
Touch screen facility has also been provided at Namma Padasale’ counters to make it convenient for the people to get details of the land and other documents, he added.
 
At the inaugural function, Krishna Palemar congratulated the district administration for the efforts put in towards providing the people easy access to the documents needed by them. From now onwards, it will be of great help to the citizens, who always used to complain about the trouble they were facing to get the documents required, he said.  
 
Member of parliament, Nalin Kumar, MLA, Yogish Bhat, MLC, Capt Ganesh Karnik, additional deputy commissioner, Prabhakar Sharma, local City Corporation commissioner, K N Vijaya Prakash, and others were also present.
