Mumbai, Jun 1: A 70-year-old coronavirus patient who was on a ventilator at KEM Hospital has been missing since May 19.
The Lalbaug resident, Khade was admitted at KEM after he displayed COVID-19 like symptoms, said his son-in-law, Ankhush Jadhav. Soon after Khade tested positive, his condition deteriorated. Later that day at 9.30 pm, doctors informed Khade's family that he was put on a ventilator. However, on May 19, Jadhav received a call from the hospital stating that they could not find Khade.
On May 21, the hospital called Jadhav, asking him to come to identify a body. It was not Khade's, following which a missing complaint report was filed at the Bhoiwada police.
"It is sheer negligence on the hospital and the police's part. I will take this up with the government," said former MP Kriti Somaiya.
