Sullia, Feb 2: Popular cine actor and Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Prada, said that an apolitical organization, ‘Lokmanch’ is being formed by herself and other like-minded persons, with an aim to provide suitable guidance to the youth besides imparting higher education, computer skills, fighting for 33% reservation for women in all sectors and in general, achieving general welfare. “Once the organization is formed, we plan to expand it all over the country,” she revealed, speaking to journalists here on Monday February 1.
“When I, as a representative of the women of the country, raised the topic of reservation for the women in the Lok Sabha, members from all parties opposed. I strongly feel that all the sectors can register good progress only when the women are given 33% reservation,” she explained.
The actor paid obeisance to Lord Subrahmanya and participated in ‘Kalasarpa Shanti’ ritual, aimed at warding off evils that might come from the ‘Sarpa Dosha’.
Besides hailing Amar Singh as a leader who gave Samajwadi Party a national stature from being a regional party, Jaya Prada said that the demands for separate states like Telangana, Poorvanchal and Harit Pradesh are natural and justified. “Even after losing both his kidneys, Amar Singh stood loyal to the party and the leaders. The party leaders need to behave humanely with him. ‘Lokmanch’ is being formed, as on several issues, I personally differ from the party’s ideologies,” she said.
She later visited Dharmasthala, had the darshan of the presiding deity and met Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade. She held discussions with Dr Heggade. Hemavati V Heggade wished her well. D Harshendra Kumar accorded her a warm welcome.
During both of her visits, she was accompanied by sister Saundarya, cine actor, Preeti and family friend, Yermal Harish Shetty.
