Sharjah, Feb 3: Karnataka Sangha Sharjah one of the prestigious registered association for Kannadigas in UAE concluded their 7th anniversary programme recently and re-elected Noel D Almeida as the President for the year 2009-2010 alongwith other Members of the Managing Committee.
 
The Managing Committee of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah gathered on 22nd January 2010 at Jacky's Restaurant, Quasis to discuss the programme schedule for 2010 and have announced the events as follows:-
           
14.05.2010  - KSS 8TH ANNIVERSARY & MAYURA AWARD CEREMONY
12.11.2010  - ANNUAL SPORTS DAY & UAE LEVEL TOURNAMENT.
 
Every year KSS will identify and select a true Kannadiga personality for their outstanding contribution to the society in the field of Business, Literature, Arts & Music, irrespective of his/her cast, creed or religion for the ‘Mayura Award’.  KSS will honour and present the Award to the identified Kannadiga during their annual celebration which will  be witnessed by a large number of Kannadigas every year.
 
In addition to the Annual Sports Day there will be a UAE level Tournament under the name 'Mayura Cup' the details of which will be released in Daijiworld at a later date.
 
Karnataka Sangha Sharjah in the past has supported many social causes which includes Free Health check-up back home for the masses, Free Medical Check up for its Members and Families in the UAE, Provided financial aids to few deceased Member’s families, and so on which they are willing to continue in the future too.
