Arts and Culture should be Above Politics: Abhishek

New Delhi, Feb 5 (IANS) With Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan under attack from the Shiv Sena, actor Abhishek Bachchan says arts and culture must not be mixed with politics.

"All that has been happening over the past few days is very unfortunate and sad. I believe that sports, arts and culture should be above politics. My family and I have faced many such incidents in the past. All I wish for is peace and harmony," Abhishek posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Abhishek, however, made no specific reference to Shah Rukh Khan, who is under attack from the Shiv Sena for favouring Pakistani participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket.

Shiv Sena activists are seeking an apology from Shah Rukh over his remarks, failing which they have threatened to ban his coming release, "My Name Is Khan", in Mumbai theatres.

A defiant Shah Rukh says he has nothing to retract.

"I don't know what the issue is all about... I don't know what I am supposed to retract. Am I supposed to retract the fact I'm an Indian but I don't want anyone to come to my country?" he said in London.

Arts and Culture should be Above Politics, Yes, this statement is very true but not when it comes to dealing with Pakistan. Pakistan is a country who want nothing less than to destroy and kill every Indian and everything that is Indian. Young Pak children are being brain washed to hate India, See the no of Jehadi millitiant outfits/suicide squads that are being made ready for the sole purpose of killing Indians. Indian fools like SRK and now Abhishek, want to display their love for Pakistani players, who`s army had cut off the nose, eyes, ears of Indian soldiers alive during the Kargil war.

Have we seen any Pakistani player who had participated in the IPL-1,or aritsts denounce Pakistan for waging a proxy war and false propoganda against India.??.Do they know how many innocent people are being killed every day in Kashmir, just because of Pak`s hatred towards India.? I agree that IPL made a mistake, by including Pak players in the auction, SRK could have only apoligised for the mistake, without taking the matter further. In my opinion India should stop all relations with Pakistan, till they stop the Jehad against India. If SRK is captured by one of these Jeahadi outfits, wonder he will have the courage tell them, release me, I am not an Indian, I am film star acting like an Indian
