I work as a safety officer in Gulf in the first thing I noticed was that no hazard identification is done to prevent accidents and I want to ask the muncipality do they have any safety officer representing them to inspect n report any unsafe work being done n what precautions should be taken to protect the life of the workers cos human life is precious n first priority to protect them, i hope someone from muncipality reads my message

It looks like fly over itself fed-up with the curruption. Still how many years we should wait to complete these fly overs in M'lore. No one bother about the thing. Where is respected Mr. Krishna Palemaar? Same question I ask to the oposition party too. Sir, our M'lore can never be beatiful. We are just hoping.

This is one of the plans for Mangalore-2050. By that time these flyovers will be completed. This Collapse was just a trailor in the making of M'lore 2050. The main film is yet to come i think.

It's a total disaster! These engineers are defintely not competent enough to carry out projects of this scale, and even if it gets completed, structural strength will be left to much desired. Time contract it to some known reputed companies, never mind hike in the the project costs, atlest we will have them justice done to the quality work.

This is indeed funny .. it took 5 years for the government to reach to that so called "flyover", and I am very sure it will take 5 more years to finish the project , by the time my grand children will get a chance to have a look at it . This is a shame to the government when it comes to development.

What a loss and what we are hearing and what we are looking. Day by day one or other incidents are keep on coming like Dacoities, murder, chain snatching, flood, accidents, building collapse and what is there and what is not there. First of all God is not happy and will not forgive with Dakshina Kannada people unless they repent with him. What we can say here "Mangalore is SHINING"?.

Corrupt government, non registered contractors are the main cause. I dont think engineers are to be blamed, its the government who has to standardize rule on safety.pure non compliance

Karnataka, especially Mangalore has been very closely following the footsteps of the northern states where similar incidents and accidents take place constantly due to high handed corruption. We have become one with them in every aspect be it robbery, dacoity, religious fanaticism, eve-teasing, murders, corruption...........the liteny is endless.

What is more saddening is enquiry after enquiry and no solution to end. The contracter may be suspended .... well he has made enough monney for the furure.... The next one will take up and make more money.....The labour class will continue to be the victims. Will the responsible party give full and complete medical assistance to the injured?

Most shocking news. If this is the case at the construction stage, what would have happened after its completion is anybody's guesss. I shudder to think of the consequences. The Government should order a high-level inquiry into the shoddy work and fix responsibility. It is obvious that the Contractor has done sub-standard, shoddy work and must be blacklisted. All the work entrusted to this contractor, whoever or however powerful he may be, must be thoroughly examined to find out if there were similar defects too. Apart from the contractor, the officers entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the quality of work must also be punished so that innocent people are not put to hardships or made to suffer.
