'My party mitigated problems of downtrodden during lockdown' - BJP state prez Nalin

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 15: Karnataka state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, said that his party did excellently as far as discharging its social responsibility is concerned, by distributing food packs, provisions, masks and sanitisers to 1.52 crore people from the state who were facing a crisis.

He was addressing the 'Karnataka Jan Samvad Rally' organised at the state BJP office on Sunday June 14 through virtual video conference.

Nalin said that under instructions from the national president of the party, every BJP worker took upon himself the task of meeting social responsibility by providing food to a minimum of five persons. "Through this act, they have wiped out the tears from the eyes of the migrant workers. Every MLA, minister, zilla panchayat member and corporator has voluntarily taken part in this drive and joined hands in extending this service," he explained.

He said that the state BJP had distributed food packets to 1.52 crore people, provisions to 49 lac people, as well as masks and sanitisers to 65 lac people. "We also manufactured masks for 1.9 lac persons, extended help to six lac persons through helpline, got 64.21 lac persons under PM Care and saw that 6.03 lac people uploaded Aarogya Setu app. The NGOs in the state, Maths and other entities have wholeheartedly extended help towards controlling coronavirus," he narrated.

Kateel added that information about Rs 20 lac crore package announced by the central government under the movement to use indigenous goods towards helping the nation to become self-reliant, the achievements of the government through the schemes announced by the state government through anti-corona measures, and also have reached 16 lac people through door-to-door visits.

He said that the state government was the first to announce package of Rs 5,000 each to 18.5 lac people including auto drivers, taxi drivers, weavers, barbers etc who were affected by lockdown, and Rs 20,000 package to floriculturists, and through waiving electricity bills in respect of small and micro industries.

He stated that India, by controlling coronavirus better than the USA, Italy, and other countries, has made other countries to look towards India in awe. He said that the people of the country, like the time they joined hands with Mahatma Gandhi in the freedom movement, have now joined hands with PM Modi when restrictions on movement were introduced to regulate coronavirus.

Kateel's party is trying to eliminate the downtrodden - witness the crass indifference it has exhibited to the plight of migrant labor and to self-employed people during an incompetently planned and executed lockdown. The chap and his coterie are completely immoral and shameless, else they will not make such claims as are being made.

The events that have unfolded have been anything but satisfactory. The steps taken were anything but satisfactory. The lock down was imposed in such a way that there was no possible way it would hold up in the future and help the country. The people took this very lightly as well. Problems occurred on everyone's part and there's no point pointing fingers at the government or migrants. The government doesn't care and the migrants can't change whats already happened even if they want to. It started in China and the whole world started having Chinese people. But now, its become an internal war where everyone is pointing fingers at their own kind.

When the history of the present times of this country is written, not only will it record the failure of the Modi regime in managing a crisis but will acknowledge the struggles of common people, the labourers, children and women who covered hundreds of kilometres on foot to return home in the absence of any help from the government.

The Central government has been at great pains to emphasise that the lockdown has “saved lives”. Such claims involve a comparison of the current figures for deaths with those obtained by extrapolating the early growth rate of the pandemic. But a little reflection shows that this is not the right metric to use to gauge the efficacy of the lockdown.

Whether it was demonetisation, GST implementation or the national lockdown, the prime minister and his advisors third time in four years, Modi's knee-jerk decision-Mmaking Hhas cost India dear.

It's clear that democracy has been quarantined. Our vibrant demography ... is walking down the highway.

Who will take responsibility for the human tragedy unfolding in democratic India?

Even floods or pandemic,Kerala government and it's people tackled it. We need "Kerala Model" to learn from Malayalees because they absolutely don't beleive in BJP jockers be it our P.M or Chaiwalla's.

This same joker said U.S $ would brought down to Rs.15 and we all witnessed what happened later and many were in dharna's for oil prices before 2014...today we all know crude oil prices are all time low for the world and in India jockers are increasing prices everyday!!!.

It is around 30 percent BJP contribution providing kits the needy. Apart from that NGO, MLA'S and MLC and MPs, various religious institutions, private donors,tv channels, industrial trust, various organisations supplied kits to the people .

If it's counted it will give contribution more than requirements of state population. All political parties and retired politicians and active politicians also have their contribution.if such is the case Karnataka state is below poverty line otherwise the contribution figure is not true and fair .Let all accounts may properly accounted and people may know true picture. still people in need of these requirements

You go to any state, either BJP Ruled or Non BJP ruled states, You can hear only one thing - standard migrants and poor people got food and other help on TIME only from generous people / laymen & not from any political party or Govt.

Most of the Political parties waited till the last minute and helped only to get political mileage with photographs and made sure that particular video clip of distributing food is aired through all TV channels.

Why did migrants have blood on their feet? Really? That's such a stupid statement. Everyone is suffering in this lock down and amidst this virus. Is it right to put the blame on a group of people who came from another country? And also, most of those people are probably Indian citizens who came back. So they would not classify as migrants.

Please make sure you understand the meaning of a word before categorising people in it. Now you will probably say that there were migrant people as well. But let me tell you that actual migrant people were a minority. Majority of the people were Indian citizens returning to their own country, which they have every right to. You are probably one of those people who judge others because they came to India from somewhere else during this pandemic. You need to make people feel welcomed because pushing people away is whats making everything so much worse with depression. Keep your distance physically but don't alienate people completely.

"He stated that India, by controlling coronavirus better than the USA, Italy, and other countries, has made other countries to look towards India in awe." Not anymore buddy! Now, other countries are questioning whether what you did makes any sense or not. You put the country in lock down when the virus was low and now that the virus is high, you are allowing people to go back to their home towns and your urging people to resume their daily lives. Sounds like a joke more than anything else. You clearly didn't think about what the future affect would be on the country when you decided to put the country in lock down overnight. And now, you cannot continue the lock down any further even if at this point, it is probably more needed than before.

when will our leaders rise above politics and parties? As a ruling Govt, its the duty of the State to the welfare of the citizens of the State and any credit must go to the State administration- the DMs, police, Medical professionals, and grass root level workers. Govt with its ministers are duty bound to enable all functions to work smoothly and for the better of the STate and its citizens. Lets rise and not get into discussions that are not vital to the problem at hand.
