23 including 22 Saudi returnees test corona-positive in DK, 2 new cases in Udupi on Jun 15

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 15: Dakshina Kannada on Monday June 15, reported 23 new coronavirus cases. Two fresh cases were detected in Udupi on Monday.

In Dakshina Kannada, among the 23 patients, 19 are males and four females. As many as 22 have come from Saudi Arabia, while the remaining one male patient has contracted infection from P-5066, a male patient, who was admitted to private hospital due to some ailment and was tested positive on June 6. All of them have been admitted to the designated COVID hospital in the district.

Five patients who recovered were discharged on Monday.

With this, the total tally of coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada has risen to 299 (including 10 from other districts), out of which 123 are currently active. As many as 158 patients have recovered and been discharged, and eight have died.

Two cases were reported in Udupi on Monday. Both patients are females. While one of them is a Maharashtra returnee, the other one has contracted the infection from P-5451 who was tested positive. She is said to be relative of a lab technician who was tested positive earlier.

As many as 31 patients who recovered were discharged on Monday .

The total number of coronavirus cases in Udupi district are 1,028 at present, out of which 207 are active, 820 discharged, and one patient has died.
