23 including 21 Saudi returnees test corona-positive in DK, no fresh cases in Udupi on Jun 18

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 18: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday June 18, reported 23 fresh cases. No new cases were detected in Udupi.

Among the 23 corona-positive patients, there are 21 males and two females. Twenty-one among the positive tested patients are Saudi returnees, while the other two have contracted infection from P-6618, a 4-year-old girl who returned from Mumbai on June 5 and tested positive on June 13. 

With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada district so far has reached 409 (including 10 cases from other districts), among which 225 are currently active. As many as 176 patients including six on Thursday who recovered have been discharged from hospital. Eight deaths have occurred in the district.

No cases were reported in Udupi district on Thursday. 

The total number of cases in Udupi is 1,039, with only 92 cases being currently active. As many as 946 patients including 38 on Thursday who recovered have been discharged from hospital. One death has occurred in the district.
