Bangalore: Vijay Sankeshwar among Those Recommended for Honorary Doctorates

Bangalore, Feb 12: Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and Gulbarga University have recommended certain names to the state Governor, who happens to be the chancellor of these universities, for being conferred honorary doctorates for their distinguished services in their respective fields. The lists of recommended names are as follows:

KSOU: Lakshmanaiah (agriculturist), Sharatchandra (scientist), T P Singh (scientist),  Bharati Vishnuvardhan (veteran cine actress), and entrepreneur, Vijay Sankeshwar.

Gulbarga University: Sri Basavalinga Pattaddevaru, spiritual head of Bhalki Hiremutt Samsthan, Prof V G Andani, veteran artist, Prof Yashpal, retired vice-chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, V K Murty, Dadasaheb Phalke awardee, Srinivas K, who has conducted in-depth research on Vijayanagar empire, chairman of Kannada Development Authority, Mukhyamantri Chandru, and Dr Mustafa Hussain, for his invaluable contribution to Urdu literature.
