Margao, Jun 20: Congress party criticised the BJP government of not addressing the issues faced by the public during the coronavirus pandemic and organizing rallies celebrating victory without having any concern for the soldiers who have laid down their life for the country and also the commoners who are facing difficulties due to COVID-19 pandemic.

This accusation came from Girish Chodankar, president of GPCC. He further said, "The Goa government ruled by BJP has completely failed in addressing the needs of the common man and is emptying the state treasury even during the COVID-19 crisis. It seems BJP has only one aim of using unethical and undemocratic ways to get and hold on to power."

Chodankar addressing a gathering at the food kit distribution programme organized by GPCC at ESI hospital, Margao to mark the 50th birthday of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

"The situation of BJP in the state of Goa is pathetic. Its leaders have failed to develop their own cadre and are trying to break other political parties and woo them to their party by unethical means. The BJP is playing Jumla politics," said Digambar Kamat, leader of opposition of Goa assembly.

Kamat further said, "The power of commoners is supreme in any democracy. The policy of dictatorship adapted by BJP will not run for a long time. They have still not mended their ways even after tasting defeat in the states of Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajastan. Manipur has shown the changing trend of the Indian political scenario. The changes are taking place all over the country."
