Mangalore: City Mayor Inaugurates ‘Craft Bazaar – 2010’

Mangalore, Feb 13: ‘Craft Bazaar – 2010’, sponsored by the ministry of textiles in the union government, being held from February 13 to 21 at Hotel Woodlands on Bunts Hostel Road here, was inaugurated on Saturday February 13 morning by the city mayor, Shankar Bhat.



‘Crafts Bazaar’ is an exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts and handloom products, being organized by Sahiyar Mahila Hastkala Utpadak Sahakari Mandali Ltd., Ahmedabad. The organizers said they have been organizing such exhibitions-cum-sale at various places, to introduce cultural heritage and different styles and artistic skills of the artisans from different places of the country to the people, and that the goods are being brought directly to the consumers from the craftsmen, without the involvement of any middlemen.
