RSS decides to lead anti-Chinese product campaign, may re-open shakhas

New Delhi, Jun 23 (IANS): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Singh (RSS), the ideological mentor of the ruling BJP, held a crucial meeting here over the recent India-China border tension where the government's response and public stand was discussed at length. It has decided throw its weight behind the government and spearhead a campaign to boycott Chinese products.

The meeting was attended by top RSS leaders including Suresh 'Bhaiyyaji' Joshi, Dattatreya Hosabale, Dr Krishna Gopal, Suresh Soni, Ramesh Pappa, Ram Lal, Arun Kumar, Sunil Ambekar, Narendra Kumar among others. However, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat could not attend the meeting. The 3-day long meeting ended late on Monday.

The meeting decided that the RSS will actively spearhead a nationwide campaign to boycott China products. So far, only its affiliates like the Swadeshi Jagran Manch have been vocal about the issue. In the coming days, top RSS leaders are expected to articulate similar views.

This comes in the wake of reports that the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) may put a ban on procuring telecom supplies from Chinese companies, when it comes to state-run telecom companies like the BSNL and the MTNL. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has also revised its foreign investment policy, making Chinese inflow of FDI a bit tougher.

The RSS also paid homage to the 20 Indian brave hearts who were martyred in Ladakh's Galwan Valley due to Chinese aggression. During the meeting, the RSS unanimously praised the role played by the Indian Army.

In a significant development, the RSS discussed and considered reopening shakhas, in accordance with Centre's Covid-19 guidelines. However, no final decision was taken. The RSS also reviewed the various welfare measures run by it and its affiliates across the country during the lockdown.

Boycotting of Chinese products is a loss for the Indian traders only and not to China. Let the Govt cancel the multi millions od dollars worth of contracts given to China and stop Chinese imports.

Mohan Bhagwat the RSSchief had once said that the RSS can raise an Army within three days. Instead of these cosmetic issue like ban on chinese goods, it will be nice if te RSS can raise an Army and send them to the Ladakh Border.

    Good initiative, Much appreciated.

But why Govt is not taking Initiative ? Let Govt. pass the resolutions so that we all will follow.

It should not end like Beef Ban. Whoever was making their small earnings through beef trade locally and taking care of their family were threatened / killed in the name of law and religion and systemically promoted / helped to export beef business through Gujarat based companies who gives good amount of money to BJP party funds during election.

Boycott call from RSS for China products?

    Great sentiments. I support that.

But this is hypocrisy. Why? This boycott call is to individuals, using Chinese phones.

But not to the manufacturers who rely on Chiese parts (and raw materials) BIG TIME!

    * A car requires about 30,000 parts - most of which are imported from China.
    * Many end products made in India are assembled with Chinese origin parts.
    * A huge quantity of hospital equipment either Made in China or made with Chinese parts
    * A huge variety of India-made generic medicines use Chinese raw materials (like HCQ)

RSS can easily put pressure on the Government to cut down Chinese imports by 80%.

But it won't. Choksi-state will go bankrupt, and India's GDP growth will be MINUS 20%.

    Manga-lurian,

... it won't happen overnight, the Gov't has already put 'hold' on many awarded projects to China.
Next they will stop importing Chinese products which has less impact on general public like toys. Gradually overall import of all the Chinese products will be reduced.
