Mangaluru, Jun 24: The people living in Pandelu near Goolipatta Addoor which comes under Gurupur gram panchayat, have been facing problems since the last several years on account of absence of proper road to their locality.

The locals have constantly been urging the panchayat to construct a road which will help many, but the panchayat has been neglecting the demand of people and therefore, the people are going through a lot of hardships.

From Addoor, there is a narrow passage for half a kilometre that leads to Pandelu and by the side of the said passage, there is a drain which poses danger to the pedestrians. During the monsoon season, the locals have to go through additional trouble of taking this passage to reach the main road by treading over it carefully, as the locals totally depend on this passage, with no alternative roads available.

During the monsoon, the said drain overflows with water and the passage poses grave danger during this season. Who will be responsible if children or elderly fall into the drain, the locals ask. They have demanded to construct a concrete road to save the residents from facing such dangerous situations.
