Kundapur: Leopard Attack Leaves Ten Villagers Injured

Kundapur, Feb 20:
As many as ten persons were injured when a leopard attacked villagers at Vandaru Nadubettu and Kakkunje regions of Kota here on Friday February 19. The leopard was finally caught at around 4.30 pm using a net at the house of Seetharam Shetty in Sankadabagilu, Vandaru here by forest watcher Vittal Nayak. 

The leopard made its appearance at Vandaru Nadubettu village and injured a villager Rajani (37) on her hand. From there on woman Gulabi (55) of the same village and was sitting in front of her house was attacked by the leopard. Meanwhile, N Vasudeva Aithal (62), a resident of Kakkunje, who was seriously injured and sustained fracture on his right hand, is under specialized treatment. These three were injured by the leopard in the morning.

In the afternoon, the leopard attacked, Purusha Naik, a 68-year-old person from Neeramakki in Thenkabettu, Gunavathi Shetty (40) of Kanthimakki, Parvathi (25) of Kenji Metkal, Sanklabail Seetharam Shetty, Seena and Vandaru forest watcher Vittal Nayak (42).
