Mangalore, Feb 21: In a disturbing incident, the locks of various segments of the St Joseph’s School in Kulshekar here were found tampered with on Sunday February 21.
The incident was brought to light when the watchman tried to open the lock of a classroom for certain purpose after obtaining the keys from the management. Unable to open the classroom’s lock, the key hole of which was sealed with the adhesives used to prevent leakages, the watchman informed school correspondent, Fr Valerian Pinto. On inspection of the school building, it was found that locks of various classrooms including toilets in all ten in number were tampered with in the above said manner.
Fr Valerian Pinto, who is also the parish priest of the Kulshekar Church in his complaint to Kadri police has suspected that some miscreants with the intention to create tension in the church premises were behind the act. Expressing fear that the peaceful atmosphere in the premises was in danger if such incidents, which he termed as serious matter, continued, Fr Valerian urged the police to nail the culprits and take immediate action against them.
Meanwhile, several members of parish suspect the hand of the same group, which was earlier involved in a similar incident that occurred in the church premises. Kadri police have visited the spot and registered the case based on the complaint by Fr Valerian Pinto.
