Mangalore, Feb 22: The Muslim Central Committee (MCC) of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district held a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office here in the city on Monday February 22 demanding CBI inquiry into the suspicious death of Mangalore Kazi C M Abdulla Musliaya.
The protestors from the MCC and other organizations supporting the demand insisted on state governments in Karnataka and Kerala to take initiative and handover the case to CBI.
Addressing the protestors, former MLC K S M Masood and president of MCC demanded proper investigation into the case. In the background of various reasons pointing out that Kazi’s death was not natural, Masood raised suspicion that he was murdered. He urged the government to look into the issue seriously and complete the investigation at the earliest.
“It is a fact known that Kazi was unable to walk due to ill health, yet the police in Kasargod claim that he died during the morning walk. Further, the family members too deny that he was on a morning walk when he met with his death. They have also expressed suspicion over the reason of his death from the moment his body was found on the sea shore”, he alleged adding that Kazi had received life threat from some miscreants a few months ago, which was neglected by Kazi.
The government should take initiative to handover the case to CBI to facilitate justice and also that the community as well as his followers may know the mystery behind his death, he added.
Vice-president of committee Ibrahim Kodijal, S M Rasheed, treasurer of Central Juma Masjid, other office-bearers C M Haneef, D M Aslam, C M Mustafa, C M Haneef, Ahmed Bava Bajal and former mayor Ashraf among others were present. A copy of the memorandum with the demands by the MCC was handed over to deputy commissioner after the protest.
