Udupi, Feb 24: The punarpratishta vardhanti mahotsav and valedictory of silver jubilee year of Mahalasa Narayana Temple under Kashimutt, Shirva will be held from Saturday February 27 to Monday March 1.

Addressing presspersons on Tuesday February 23, Chidanand Pai, temple committee secretary said that as part of the celebration a procession with horekanike and of silver palanquin will be carried out from sarvajanika Ganeshotsava vedike in the town to Kashimutt on February 27 at 5.00 pm following which a puja will be held at 8.00 pm.

On February 28, bhajan programme will be held at 10.00 am which will be followed by 50th sarvajanika Satyanarayana puja, mahapuja and distribution of prasadam. Moorumuthu, a Kannada comedy play by Roopakala troupe, Kundapur will be staged at 3.30 pm. Mahe vice-chancellor Dr Ramdas M Pai, Vasanti R Pai, Mysore Ganesh Beedi managing partner M Jagannath Shenoy and A Ramdas Kini of Andar in Karkala will be felicitated. Kashimutt, Konchady president Maroor Padmanabha Pai will be the chief guest on the occasion. The dedication of silver palanquin, puja and other rituals will be held at 8.00 pm.

Sri Sayyameendrateertha Swamiji, chief disciple of Kashimutt seer Sri Sudheendrateertha Swamiji will arrive at Shirva for the first time ever on March 1 and will dedicate the silver palanquin to the lord as well as deliver benedictory address. The prayer, panchamruta abhisheka, shatakalasha abhisheka, saanidhya havana, mahapuja, darshana seve and such other rituals will be held from 8.00 am onwards. Rajata Pallakki Utsava and Vijaya Rathotsava will be held from 7.30 pm onwards following which prasadam will be distributed to the devotees.

Special bus services are available for devotees traversing through Udupi – Belman to participate in the religious celebrations.
