Mangalore : District Sahithya Sammelan Logo Unveiled

Mangalore, Feb 25 (DHNS): The office of the DK district 16th Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, scheduled to be held from March 15 to 17 in the City, was inaugurated on Wednesday, while the Sammelan logo was unveiled. 

District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar inaugurated the Sammelan office at Sri Krishna Complex on M G Road in Kodialbail and released the logo. The logo has been designed by Shivaprasad K Achar, a first PUC student of Vivekananda College, Puttur.











Speaking on the occasion, Palemar wished that the Sammelan would be a step towards preserving and upholding the rich heritage of Tulunadu. MLA N Yogish Bhat said the Sammelan, to be held day-and-night for three days, would be a new record for its first-of-its-kind. “The government will be releasing Rs 5 lakh grant towards the literary conference which will not be sufficient for the event. Support from donors is inevitable,” he said.

Karnataka Yakshagana Academy President Kumble Sundar Rao, Kannada Sahitya Parishat DK unit President S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, advocate Ivan D’Souza, Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple hereditary managing trustee Raghavendra Shastri among others were present.
