Kasargod: Use of masks, gloves - DC orders closure of shops violating rules

Kasargod, Jul 15: "Employees working in business concerns need to compulsorily wear hand gloves and face masks. If this order is violated, the guilty shops and establishments will be closed for a week, and the police have been issued with the instructions to enforce these rules," said district collector Dr D Sajith Babu.

The district collector also said that the shops so closed will be permitted to be opened only after it is disinfected. He also said that it is the responsibility of those running the business concerns to make sure that large number of customers do not form a crowd.

Babu said that highest coronavirus infections were reported in the district on July 12 on account of business concerns. He said that the infection has also spread due to trucks bringing goods from other states. He said that the movement of such vehicles will be regulated.

"We are yet to get primary contact details about eight persons confirmed with COVID infection so far. The people had exercised highest care during the lockdown period in the past. In the coming days, they are expected to exercise maximum caution. All the rules and regulations imposed by the district administration and health department have to be followed without any exception," he added.
