Beltangady: Son, grandson arrested for brutal assault of elderly woman

Beltangady, Jul 17: An elderly woman was assaulted mercilessly by her own son and grandson at Halasinakatte, Savanalu village here. The incident has gone viral in social media. In a quick action, police personnel arrested both the men in this connection.

Srinivas Shetty, son and grandson Pradeep Shetty of the elderly woman in a drunken stupor assaulted the woman. People had expressed anguish as the incident had gone viral.

Beltangady police sub inspector Nandakumar had said that the matter has come to their notice and suitable action will be taken after investigation.

Accused grandson Pradeep Shetty, son Srinivas Shetty and another person were arrested by the police. A case of violence against senior citizens and assault was registered at Beltangady police station against the duo.

The senior citizen has been sent to senior citizen’s care centre.

    How can people be so cruel, that too its their own mother and grand mother.... i cant imagine this... when they were kids.. that women have cared for them .. or else they would not be in this world... when the women grows old... they behave like this... whether we are poor or rich... what we eat at least half of that should be shared with our parents... because without them we would not be in this world. Whatever character our mother and father may be... they might be rude, characterless.. whatever... its our duty to look after them like they took care of us i our childhood.... Please dont do this to your parents....

    By mistake I watched this video , pain still remain in me. Oh my god , how could they do this with that old women??? I am sure many have same feelings like me.

    What was the person who shot the video clip doing?

    That person shot the entire episode but did nothing to help that poor old Lady or intervened in anyway?

    Agree that because of the "evidence", those heartless goons are arrested. But, the person who shot the video allowed the torture.

    Sultan Singh Batinda,I quite agree with you.Important is video first,then rest.It happens also during any accident ,or rape,etc.People should learn first to help the needy,it may happen even to you tomorrow.Feel so bad.first of all she is not only old but their mother/Grandson.How they could raise hand against her.They worship a cow but assault mother/Grandmum?Hope the grandma will get well fast.Drunken stuper makes men forget their own relationship ,let her remain there .she must have experienced this long before too I suppose.Punish them or put inside four walls for long years.Pity the lady.

    Sultan atleast he Recorded the incident and it became Viral otherwise no one would have known this. He helped the Lady Indirectly or she would have died. How he can stop when there are two Drunkards torturing the poor lady ? They would have attacked him also. Both of them should be hanged Upside Down FIR filed and put behind Bars to Rot. No Bail should be given for this Inhuman Act.

    Woman wen she gets marry and don't conceive she 'll go under lots of pressure stress and she ll run to God asking for his grace and do all kind of fasting prayer vrathas and poojas. And finally 1 in 1000 woman give birth to this kind of devil . I wonder why he din die infected by any virus (God forgive me for such thought). Don't know wthr to blame the poor lady for not guiding him in his childhood or her son who is just knocking the door of hell. Appreciating the work done by Police department.
