Mysuru: ‘We are responsible for political developments in Rajasthan’ - BJP leader A H Vishwanath

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (MS)

Mysuru, Jul 17: Former minister and BJP leader A H Vishwanath said that they are responsible for the political developments in the state of Rajasthan.

Speaking to the media in the Jaladarshini guest house in the city on Friday, July 17, Vishwanath said, "We are the reason for the sudden political developments in the state of Rajasthan. They have revolted against the ruling government in the same fashion as we did."

"Revolt against the ruling party by its own MLAs started first in Karnataka. Because of the culture which we started, now the same is happening everywhere in the country. I feel proud. In addition, the CM is misusing the anti-defection law. This is an autocratic policy. A nation-wide discussion should be held on this matter," the BJP leader said.

"Not a single people representative should be ignored. Of late, no one is defecting from the opposition to the ruling party. On the contrary, people from the ruling party itself are going to the opposition. That is not defection and it is not a crime that is punishable. There should be a discussion with regards to the political developments of Rajasthan. Those who respect the constitution should speak on this subject.

"Siddaramaiah has changed parties four times. Ramesh Kumar has changed political parties 10 times. Kumaraswamy has changed the party altogether. They call us defectors. In Congress and JD(S) still dynasty rule is present. In JD(S) father is national president and son is state president. We revolted against the dynasty politics of both parties. Now our model is followed by MLAs of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan,” he said.

If the MLA's have no confidence with their party, the they should not contest elections in the said party. They win in one party and change the party after winning. This should be stopped.
A new law should be imposed stating that if any MLA changes party after winning elections, he should not contest any elections in future.

Congress is involved in wholesale and retail defections since 1950.In Haryana whole Lok Dal Government was converted into Congress Government. As you sow,so you reap.Vishwanath was Congress leader for a long time and due to difference of opinion with autocratic Siddaramaiah, he joined JDS and then to BJP.There was difference of opinion between Gehlot and Pilot in Rajasthan.Congress leadership failed to solve the problem.Bechara Congress cannot keep its flock together and blaming others for it.

    Yes you started a revolution..
But unfortunately Indian constitution doesn't considers under multi party system securiying 50%+1 seat by single political party will be difficult. In that scenario single largest party should form government and continue to rule. May be single largest party should have more than 33%+1 seats to form government. Otherwise re-election to be conducted.
India got lot of room for horse trading and corruption. So many lobbies continue to play in the background. No development..

we elected a representative when he was representing a particular party , thats how he won. he won based on the party only.
he is free to join any party but he cannot mis represent the people who voted him to power , that seat be it any party is to be filled by that party another reprsentative not the new part he joins
if i am wrong then it shoul be normal for a marketing person representing one brand to take away the customers when he switches brands , no, but is considered cheating

Elected representatives who shamelessly flaunt their arrogance to defect to another party, thus forcing their disqualification and subsequently causing by-elections in the constituencies they were previously elected from, must be barred from contesting elections, for atleast one term. Firstly, they are cheating the people who gave them the mandate to represent them for five years. Secondly, it is prodigal wastage of the taxpayers' money. Personal in-differences and idealogical clarifications must be settled internally within the party. The public must not pay the brunt for their childish arrogance.

The Anti Defection Law brought by Rajiv Gandhi govt. had this provision, but recently Election Commission colluding with ruling party gave Supreme Court a different view point which Supreme Court accepted & helped them re contest which itself is against the spirit of that law which helped BJP to use money power to dethrone majority govts by luring their MLA's who can't be accommodated in the posts of power & corruption possible always are ready to sell their souls.
