Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 19: On Sunday July 19, total lockdown would be in force in Dakshina Kannada district. This measure was taken by the state government in order to regulate coronavirus infection that has been spreading fast.

As usual, curfew will be in force. On Sunday, there will not be break between 8 am to 11 am to enable people to procure provisions and essentials. Hence, the curfew which will be in place from 11 am on Saturday will be relaxed on Monday at 8 am.

Emergency services however will be available on Sunday. Vehicles will be off the roads.

A week-long total lockdown was announced in Dakshina Kannada district from July 16 as a precautionary measure against the fast spreading coronavirus pandemic in the district.

One days lockdown is waste of time as it will have no effect on the spread.

I understand curfew means to shoot at sight orders as we did with CAA protests!.

"As usual, curfew will be in force. On Sunday, there will not be break between 8 am to 11 am to enable people to procure provisions and essentials."

What essentials ? After Monday, I set out of the house today to fetch milk. How many days' stock can one maintain ? I had as much as it could last for four days. Well, today I wandered from one wending place to another, at four outlets the stock had sold out. How much milk was dispensed then ? 25% of the regular quantity ? 50% ? 75 %

This is not working as it should be.

Has Covid 19 got the memo to lie low and hibernate during non lock-down periods so that there can be no spread of the virus???

A strict 'no milk, no newspaper' type lockdown for 14 days, attending and quarantining the people with symptoms, within this period is the only option to control the spread now.
Give three days advance notice store essentials.

Jossie, if you can manage a 1 year l strict lockdown too, you cannot escape this virus especially in a overpopulated country like India with half of the people living in absolute poverty, ignorance, lack of hygiene, myths, religious dogmas, dirty politics, rampant corruption!

DO EXPECT A "SECOND WAVE" OF CORONA IN THE NEAR FUTURE AS 85% OF THOSE RECOVERED ARE SHOWING IMMUNITY ONLY FOR AROUND 90 DAYS, WHICH MEANS THEY ARE AGAIN OPEN TO GET IT!!
