Mangaluru, Jul 18: A woman from Beltangady, who had delivered a baby on Wednesday July 15 night and then escaped on July 16 night after developing cold feet about the positive corona test report she received by breaking the gate lock of the hospital she was admitted in Beltangady, has been traced and readmitted into the government hospital here.

After the corona test report of the woman was received on July 16, the doctors had informed her and made arrangements to shift her to the district hospital at Mangaluru for treatment. Her husband, who arrived that night, had overlooked requests of the hospital staff and had forcibly taken away his wife and child home.

She is a newly delivered mother, Lady Goshen is a government hospital for deliveries. She and her newborn require maternity related treatment first. Covid positive can be fabricated to elicit money from the new father.

Hope the case is thoroughly investigated and if found wrong Covid report, such practices should be brought to an end.

The issue is that Covid positive pregnant women are delivered in the maternity block of Covid wing in Wenlock, the negative patients are in Lady Goschen,By putting a positive patient there other patients are at risk, she would have been better off at home. There was no need for admission, just isolation at home and counseling about symptoms was needed if the mother and newborn are healthy otherwise.

Why so much pressure ? Don't people have freedom to home quarantine if the symptoms are mild ? She should have been informed the extent of her symptoms gently, than hitting her with 'POSITIVE'

Obviously people will take aback if such intensity is forced upon them.
