Bengaluru: BJP high command unhappy with Yediyurappa's handling of corona pandemic?

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jul 19: A month ago, Karnataka was a role model to the country in controlling the coronavirus pandemic, second only to Kerala. However, now the state and especially capital Bengaluru have turned into hotspots of coronavirus pandemic.

According to reports, highly placed sources have indicated that the BJP high command is 'furious' with chief minister Yediyurappa for failing to control the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the state.

It is being said that the failure of the state government coupled with the alleged incapability of Yediyurappa in inspiring the ministers to do their work properly have led to the worsening coronavirus situation in the state.

Earlier, the BJP high command leaders had lauded the leadership of CM Yediyurappa in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. PM Narendra Modi himself had praised Yediyurappa for controlling the spread of the dreaded disease in the capital city of Bengaluru. However, the situation in Karnataka and Bengaluru in particular has reached a state where the health minister himself has said that 'only God can save the people of Karnataka'. BJP high command is annoyed at this state of affairs in Karnataka, sources said.

In addition, it is learnt that the BJP high command is also not happy with CM Yediyurappa failing to make Karnataka into a model state, losing control over the spread of coronavirus pandemic and primarily, for giving the opposition led by Siddaramaiah a chance to level allegations of corruption and scam in the purchase of hospital equipment. The high command is said to be unhappy with the lack of coordination between ministers in the state cabinet and the infighting. It is also being alleged that Yediyurappa has failed to ensure that decisions taken in meetings were implemented.

There is every possibility that the BJP high command leaders may soon have a discussion with CM Yediyurappa for losing the opportunity of turning Karnataka into a model state in the fight against coronavirus and tarnishing the image of the party amidst allegations of scam.

The BJP high command, in all probability, is expected to give strict instructions to Yediyurappa on controlling the fast-spreading coronavirus pandemic situation, having absolute power on the ministers in his cabinet, directing officials to implement the decisions taken in meetings and more importantly, giving clarification on the charges of corruption by the opposition.

Probably this could be the last Total Lockdown Sunday, since learning his wrong decision, CM Yediyurappa has said that the Lockdown is not a solution to contain COVID-19 woes, and it won’t be extended further in the State, including Bengaluru. Yediyurappa had said the same earlier this week after a meeting with the Karnataka COVID-19 task force as well. However, change in his plans could happen at the last minute also.

Lockdown (enforcement of protocols) especially in a country like India, has been a failure in containing the infection because of over population, densely populated areas, poverty, unemployment, ignorance, myths, rampant corruption, multiicrore scams in the midst of a falling economy due to GST & DEMO! What can you comment of a country where some people have started worshiping the virus as CORONA amma/CORONA devi?? We just cannot extrapolate the protocols followed by advanced & thinly populated countries!
Reportedly, 12-14 crore jobs have been lost, most MSMEs under distress, almost all businesses badly hit, gulf dreams are over!
Only saving grace is COVID19 mortality in India is 2.5% & Karnataka 2.05%!
Everyday people are committing suicide due to post CORONA socioeconomic effects!
It's now clear that we'll have to live with the virus; reports suggest that there will be a fresh wave, but nobody knows how virulent it'll be!
Better to get along with normal life as early as possible as nobody knows when this virus will disappear!

The above is a very personal opinion based on my knowledge and information available in public domain & not an advice!

Motu Bhai and Feku bhai unhappy because Yeddi did not strictly follow their one simple rule to control Covid cases ,which are fallowed in other BJP states. The rule is do less and less tests or no tests. No tests no corona confirmed cases, Covid under control . very simple,Feku rule. Eg. Gujarat, Bihar, M P, etc...

It is quite obvious that when we are at loosing end,it is the general trend that we have to point our fingers or blame others just to cover up our lapses. That what the present scenario at the central high command. In fact what high command has done in containing the spread of Covid-19 other than supervision and dictating. It is always easy said than done.Only screaming, pointing fingers or blaming others does not serve the purpose.Lapses might have been there in handling Covid-19 case by BSY-CM but considering his age, whatever he is doing is beyond his capacities. One must appreciate him for this.
While handling the big and huge cases like this mistakes, lapses, accusation, allegations bound to happen.Taking this as reason one can not arrive to abrupt conclusion or blame others

Nobody can stop the spread until people are ready for it to help themselves in spreading via community or social gathering etc. People has responsibilities to look after themselves. Corruption also spreaded like Corona in the past still nobody can take them out from the system but soon for Corona there will be vaccine to stop it.

Although yeddi is more than 75 year old he has done a good job in trying to contain the spread of coronavirus single handedly. He is also the lone bjp chief minister who can take on the bjp high command. The bjp high command doesnt like like him since the time he tried to bring down the sadananda govt. in the state but could not do anything.

Yeddi has no equals in karnataka in the bjp. Although 9th pass nalin kumar has been made the bjp state chief he want a assistant to speak in the lok sabha. He doesnt have the support of even few bjp legislators.

Although i dont like politicians i commend yeddy.

Because of these lockdown, we have entered depression from recession in the economy! If this nonsense of lockdown is not stopped immediately much more lives will be lost due to hunger & other diseases!
We have fallen back by atleast 25 years economically!
You might be having the resources to stay in lockdown for another 2 years, but the common man has already become a pauper!

It is quite evident that Yedyurappa is losing control over his ministers. Rumours are doing the rounds that a few ministers are more interested in the chair occupied by him, so they are waiting for the day the present CM is ousted by the high command. Although Yeddyurappa is probably doing his best, his age is not supporting him and more than that he made a horrendous blunder in choosing Sriramulu to be the Health Minister. Whichever angle you look at him, Sriramulu is one person who is certainly the least favoured Health Minister. Perhaps Yedurappa never expected something like Covid 19 to hit the world, so he thought it would make no difference who the Health Minister is. Now he must have understood the grave mistake he made. And the people of Karnataka are paying for this blunder with their lives. The problem is Yeddyurappa can neither spit Sriramulu out nor can he swallow him.

If our airports, ports and borders were sealed and restricted passengers allowed in with testing/quarantine in January end 2020 ,the virus would not have spread. Now that Corona is in every nook and corner of he country,no PM,CM or politician, party or health expert will be able to stop it unless a vaccine is available and available cheap or "herd immunity" develops. If there was no lockdown earlier the cases would have peaked in May/June and by October the fear of corona would have gone. Now if there are no further knockdowns it should peak by Sept/Oct and we would be celebrating a Happy New Year 2021! Until then Be Happy Be Healthy.
