Udupi: 35-year-old corona-positive patient dies, district death toll rises to 11

Udupi, Jul 21: Udupi district on Tuesday July 21, reported a death related to coronavirus.

The deceased, aged 35 is a resident of Kannur in Kerala. He was admitted to KMC Hospital in Manipal for treatment in the month of June. He passed away due to kidney-related ailment. His swab sample was tested positive after his death.

With this, the number of deaths related to coronavirus in Udupi district has risen to 11.

District health officer Sudhirchandra Sooda informed that the burial of the deceased was held in Udupi itself. 

SKSSF Bikhaya team and AIKMCC jointly helped to bury the mortal remains of the deceased in Sunnath Jamat customs at Muslim burial grounds near Udupi fish market. Dakshina Kannada SKSSF team and Dakshina Kannada district AIKMCC team along with social workers Ansar Ahmed, Asif and Nasir Yakub did the needful.

Vikhaya team chairman Sayyed Ismael Tanjal Uppinangady, SKSSF Dakshina Kannada convener Asif Kabaka, Siddik Niraje, Shameer H L, AIKMCC team’s Sayyed Afwan Ali Tanjal, Asraf Tanjal Manipal, Hanif Haji, Udaya Puttur and family members of the deceased Jafar and Aslam Kannur took part in the burial.

Meanwhile, 18 staffs of a hotel tested positive on Tuesday. The hotel here was already sealed down as the owner of the hotel had tested positive. As many as 20 staffs were undergoing home quarantine in which 18 have tested positive now.

    Patient was admitted in June Swab test done after death. Does it mean after he died he became positive.. Once he was admitted why he was not checked. DK and Udipi is famous in health care then what's happening. Bangalore patients are dying on the roads and here in DK and Udipi in hospitals.

    Yes, Bhandar Sir.... I got the news.... Everywhere covid is spreading his tentacles and encroaching..... But, let's not be shaken/worried and fear. Let's be confident and hopeful and pray. In the beginning itself, from the day one let's take precautionary measures at home like inhalation, salt water gargles, mouth wash/hot food with some home made kashayas with other ingredients adding turmeric ginger, pepper, tulsi compulsory... Let's pray with a great faith in this difficulty to come out for those who suffer. If no messages are not seen in this portal, from Lan.. Sir, it's really worrisome!
