Bengaluru, Jul 21: Even The students who are infected with coronavirus will be able to appear for the common entrance test (CET) this year.

The health and family welfare department has published its standard operating procedure for the CET examination. As per the list, infected students and those in quarantine will be eligible to appear for the CET.

As per the guidelines, infected candidates from the containment zones, and those having direct, primary or additional risks of infection should be allowed to appear for the test in a separate room. Students whose infection has been confirmed should be given different rooms to appear for the test. The district health authorities of the respective districts and city corporations should take necessary precautionary measures at such examination centres, it has been ordered.

None of the examination centres reserved for the CET should be allowed to be used as quarantine centres. In every district centre, an additional test centre should be identified and reserved. As Bengaluru has more number of examination centres, four additional centres should be earmarked there, as per the order.

In the case of students coming from other states and countries, such students should be exempted from the provisions of quarantine and arrangements should be made to allow them to appear for the examination in a special room.

The examination centres should be cleaned with disinfectant solutions three days before the examination. After each examination, all rooms in the centre and furniture should be sanitised. Students should be ready at the centres for two hours in advance. Towards following social distancing rule, 24 students should be accommodated in each of the rooms, the guidelines state.
