Bengaluru, Jul 21: Archbishop Emeritus of Bangalore Archdiocese Fr Dr Bernard Moras, who had been hospitalised after being tested COVID positive, has been discharged from the St John’s Hospital, Bengaluru, following his recovery.
However, Archbishop Emeritus Moras has been advised to be home quarantined for a few more days, according to official communication from the Bangalore Archbishop Fr Dr Peter Machado.
The Archbishop has in a press release announced that the churches in Bengaluru Urban and Rural districts will be opened from August 1 as a matter of caution even though the week-long lockdown clamped in the two districts will be ending from Tuesday and life will be back to normal. However, it will continue to be subject to restrictions of wearing masks and social distancing from Wednesday.
Another priest Fr Soosainathan, who had been admitted at St John’s Hospital upon being tested COVID positive, recovered and will be discharged on Wednesday.
But another priest of the Bangalore Archdiocese Fr John Paul has been tested COVID positive and has been hospitalised, the press release said.
Archbishop Machado has in his press release, announced that the parish priests of churches in the Bengaluru Urban and Rural districts 'could well plan for the future liturgical and pastoral activities with the help of PPC and PFC members after taking steps for adequately sanitising the indoors of the churches and make all necessary arrangements for the safe participation of the faithful.'
