Kasargod: POCSO accused slips from police jumps into sea, search in progress

Kasargod, Jul 22: In an incident that occurred at Kasargod port, on the morning of Wednesday, July 22, a man, who was accused in a POCSO case, slipped away from the police and jumped into the nearby sea.

Mahesh (28), a resident of Soorlu Kanhangad, is the accused who ran away from the police and jumped into the sea. The cops had brought him to the port in order to gather evidence and for spot inspection. Mahesh escaped from the police and ran around 200 meters towards the sea and jumped into it. The effort to rescue him also failed.



Coastal guard, locals and police are searching for the accused. Mahesh was arrested regarding accusation of taking the video of a minor girl in a washroom on his mobile. The accused had said during interrogation that he has hidden the mobile, which was used to video record the act, near Nellinkunje port. Accordingly, the police had brought him to the Kasargod port.

    Do not compare Kundapura with Kasargod, Kundapura is very much peaceful place with law abiding citizens, you must be mistaken Kundapura with Kamatipura
