Karnataka coronavirus tally rises to 75,833 with 4,764 new cases


Bengaluru, Jul 22 (IANS): Record number of 4,764 new Covid positive cases have been registered in Karnataka, increasing the state's tally to 75,833, even as 55 patients succumbed to the virus, an official said on Wednesday.

"New cases reported from Tuesday 5 p.m. to Wednesday 5 p.m. are 4,764," said a health official.

With no change in the pattern of infections, Bengaluru continues to report the highest number of cases, recording 2,050 on Wednesday, raising the city tally to 36,993, out of which 27,969 are active.

Bengaluru accounts for 59 per cent of all the active cases, a slight reduction of 2 per cent in one day.

Among the new cases, excluding Bengaluru, Udupi accounts for 281 cases, followed by Belagavi (219), Kalaburagi (175), Dakshina Kannada (162) and Dharwad (158) among others.

Meanwhile, 55 patients succumbed to the virus, raising the death toll to 1,519, with Bengaluru accounting for 735 of them.

Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) has been identified to be the most common medical condition among the deaths, with fever, cough and breathlessness being the main symptoms.

On a happy note, 1,780 patients have been discharged, swelling the total number of discharges to 27,239.

Of the total 75,833 cases, 47,069 are active while the number of patients in ICU rose to 618.

On Wednesday, Medical Education Minister K. Sudhakar, Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwathnarayan and V. Somanna have inaugurated a 175-bed Covid Care Centre (CCC) at Unani Hospital in Govindarajanagar.

    In India shortage and improper supply of daily food requirements caused panic in the general public (citizens) irrespective of their living status. ( Rich, Medium and Poor ). Short supply of food makes people to rush for their requirements in panic ( fear they get or not ). If ruling government supplies daily requirements in sufficient quantity for payment, corona spreading can be eliminated by 95%.
    our ruling government do not want curb corona spread.
