Modi 100% focused on his own image: Rahul in latest video

New Delhi, Jul 23 (IANS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday once again attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the India-China border face-off saying he is 100 per cent focused on building his own image and "one man's image is not a substitute for a national vision".

"Prime Minister is 100 per cent focused on building his own image. India's captured institutions are all busy doing this task. One man's image is not a substitute for a national vision," he said in a tweet attaching the third video of the series.

In the video, the Congress MP from Kerala's Wayanad said, "Psychologically you will have to deal with the Chinese from a position of strength."

Emphasising on how India should respond to China, he said that if you deal with them from a position of "strength" you can work with them, you can get what you need and it can be actually done. "But if they sense weakness then you had it. And the first thing is you are not going to take on China without a vision," the Congress leader said, adding that he doesn't mean a national vision, but an international vision.

Talking about China's ambitious 'belt and road' project, Rahul Gandhi said, "Belt and Road is an attempt to change the nature of the planet. India has to have a global vision and if they have now to become an idea, and it has to become a global idea the thing that is going to protect India is actually thinking big."

On India's border issue with China, he said, of course we have this border issue and we have to resolve this. "But we have to change our approach, we have to change how we think, this is the point at which where the road parts, if we go this way we become a major player and if we go another way we become irrelevant. And that is why I am aggravating, because I can see that a huge opportunity is being lost," he said.

Attacking the government, the Congress leader said, "Why because we are not thinking in the long term, we are not thinking big and we are disturbing our internal balance, we are fighting among ourselves."

Pointing out at the political scenario in the country, he said, just look at the politics, all day long Indians are fighting Indians, it is because there is "no clear cut" vision going forward. "And I know that the Prime Minister is an opponent and my responsibility is to question him and put pressure on him so he does his work. His responsibility is to give the vision and it's not there and I can tell you it's not there and that is why China is in there today," he added.

On last Friday (July 17), Rahul Gandhi released his first video and questioned the government's foreign policy. He slammed the Narendra Modi government over the face-off with China in Ladakh. He said China chose this time to intrude in our land as India's foreign policy, economy and relationship with neighbouring countries are disrupted.

In his second video released on Monday (July 20), the Congress leader said Modi fabricated a "fake" strongman image to come to power and now his biggest strength is "India's biggest weakness".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign trips and his government’s advertising blitz over the past four-and-a-half years have cost Indian taxpayers about ₹ 6,590 crore ($920 million). The globe-trotting prime minister’s 84 foreign trips around the world cost roughly $280 million (about ₹ 2,000 crore), while the government spent $640 million (about ₹ 4,500 crore) on promoting Modi’s flagship projects and achievements, according to new government data.

PM Narendra Modi spent $1 billion on ads, foreign trips that amounts to
    US$ 1,000,000,000 (1 Billion US Dollar) = Rs 65,000,000,000 (Rs 6 Thousand 500 Crores Approx.)

If half of the amount spent by 'Fakir' Prime Minister, 16 lakh kids can be provided elementary education in government schools for a year, it could have paid for 41 lakh kids' education.
It would take Rs 1,807.92 crore to feed the entire population of India (approximately 133.92 crore in 2017) and that too would just be 60.5 per cent of Rs 2,989 crore. We could feed 82.4 per cent of India two such meals, it can fulfill almost 27,676 aspiring engineers' dream to study in IIT, free of cost.
Last year, the Indian government got 36 Rafale jets for Rs58,000 crore. Roughly, therefore, Rs3,200 crore is the cost of four Rafale fighter jets.

When all the small opposition parties are silent on BJP's corruption, China aggression, Covid-19 management, I appreciate the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's presentation. Rahul Gandhi must realise that Modi cannot be beaten at his own game. Rather than attack the prime minister personally, the Congress leader should take Manmohan Singh's cue and use tempered language.

The 56-inch chest has been badly exposed when it was needed to be bared the most. Instead of replicating Modi’s template of political criticism, Congress leaders need to provide a counter to all-pervading hype. A model exists in Manmohan Singh’s statement.

The country should know the total cost of Modi's image building excercise including the advertisments, his make up cost, the Godi media's expenditure and the BJP IT cell propoganda. Is it worth it to spend thousands of Crores to build the image of a leader when so many citizens are suffering in our country.

He should realise that the shelf life of any person is limited and all this extrvagent expenditure will go to waste if investment is not made on Institutions of India.

Absolutely, people should think twice before they vote. Do we need social security and better infrastructure in our country or only false advertisement. Choose wisely, it is in your hand and only in peoples hands.
Unfortunately people chose religion and caste in 2014 onwards, and results are coming in now.

Image is all a narcissist cares about, be it branded attire and accessories, teleprompted monologues, scripted interview with Canada Kumar, photoshoot with Bear Grylls, just to name a few. Of course, many a time these endeavors have gone overboard resulting in those hilarious gaffes such as 'using email and digital camera in 1988!'

Modi don't care for anybody other than himself. If at all he had some compassion towards Indias people he should not have been silent when the migrant workers walking across the country. This man don't care if our borders are compromised and even the enemy sit inside our territory he will hide everything with the support from media and other institutions.

Our India's corrupt businessmen community Business Development Manager roamed all around the word spending tax payers money .

When his Chinese friend Xi-Ping came he went to beach to collect waste with photographers thinking he will get popularity doing so. But his chinese understood he is good for waste collection........ In 6 years no businessmen came to invest in India. Slaves and andh bhakths still selling dreams of 5 Trillion Economy in one hand and saying ATMANIRBHAR ho jao in another way............... We have only option to become self reliant........... Slaves are still dreaming 15lakhs, Achhe Din, and 5 Trillion.......... 5 Trillion economy is something like a beggar dreaming of living in palace. You dream it........... Clapp Clapp Clapp your hands and Dance to his tune ,Slaves are bound to do it..............
Tell me one good thing India has seen in current PM's leadership than focusing on own image.
India is not having INDIAN GOVERNMENT it is MODI SARKAR he and you only saying this always.

    Sudhro Andh Bhakt.

Nation comes first and not the leader. We can change the leader but not the Nation.

Energy should be spent on building India and not building the personality of self. History has shown that all such leaders have failed the country and finally failed themselves.
