Daijiworld Media Network – Dubai

Dubai, Jul 23: Two including a woman from Mangaluru died in a road accident on Sheikh Zayed Road here.

Ludina Monteiro (30) from Valencia in Mangaluru, is identified as one of the deceased. She was traveling in a minibus which was involved in the accident.

The accident took place on July 12. Twelve others were injured in the mishap. A 14-seater bus collided with a road barrier on Al Manara Bridge, towards Jebel Ali, before the vehicle caught fire. The bus flipped over due to the impact and a blaze erupted after the accident in which two people died, according to Dubai police.

Ludina Monteiro

Ludina is the daughter of Louis and the late Theresa Monteiro and sister of Louson and Blandina.

Daijiworld had published the confirmed news on Monday July 20. But due to a request from Ludina Monteiro's family and certain legal issues in Dubai, the news had to be withdrawn. The concerned authorities in Dubai have now issued the death certificate of the deceased.

RIP . These minibuses are not at all safe of transport for people and there are studies proving this . Traffic here is mostly one way and least chances of head on collisions like in India. still the drivers are careless and overspeeding .History shows so many innocent lives gone . Companies or individuals should select other safer modes of transport as this is not a way to lose people .Even weather and visibility was good on that day .

In our long stay in Dubai, we have seen a lot of similar accidents and a lot of people have lost lives because of some one else's negligence. Al Manara is a critical accident prone area. It is very sad to see Ludina succumbing to her injuries. We pray that her family take this loss into their stride. May the Lord strengthen them. May her soul rest in Peace.
