Udupi: 70-year-old corona-positive patient dies, district death toll rises to 12

Udupi, Jul 23: Udupi district on Thursday July 23, reported a death related to coronavirus.

The deceased, aged 70 is a resident of Chantharu in Brahmavar. She passed away on Wednesday July 22. She was suffering from asthma, fever and cold from the past few days.

The swab test report of the lady was received in the evening yesterday which was positive. The family had made arrangements to shift the lady to the hospital. But she passed away at her home.

With this, the number of deaths related to coronavirus in Udupi district has risen to 12.

As per Udupi district bulletin, till Wednesday evening, as many as 2,686 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including a record 281 on Wednesday. As many as 1,776 patients have been discharged and 899 cases were active.
