PM's ratings on handling Covid 19 going strong at 77.3%

New Delhi, Jul 23 (IANS): The Narendra Modi government still enjoys high approval ratings for its handling of the Covid-19 situation in India with more than three-fourths of respondents endorsing how the government is dealing with the crisis, as per the IANS-CVoter Covid-19 Tracker.

As per the latest poll with a sample size of 1,723, 77.3 per cent respondents agree that the government is handling the crisis well, endorsing the Modi-led government's actions on tackling Covid-19 while 19.1 per cent disagree.

However, the approval ratings are not as high as in the previous months and the long economic lull seems to be testing people's patience. In the April-June period, the approval ratings were in the 90s and 80s, but have been coming down lately.

Several months into the corona crisis and with number of cases hitting new highs, almost 60 per cent of respondents feel they could get the infection. To a question in the survey, "I am afraid that either myself or someone in my family may actually catch the coronavirus", 59.8 per cent agreed while 34.9 per cent disagreed with the proposition.

However, the corona situation has not created panic as almost half the respondents feel that the threat from coronavirus is exaggerated. As many as 49.3 per cent of the respondents said that the threat is exaggerated while 41.2 per cent disagreed.

With the newfound experience of lockdowns, people have become more cautious about stocking up groceries and rations. A total of 54.3 per cent said they have rations for more than three weeks while 44.7 per cent said they have rations of less than three weeks.

The situation for those without work or laid off from work has not changed much since the lockdown was lifted.

While 23.97 per cent were completely laid off or out of work since the lockdown was implemented, 21.57 per cent are still out of work since the lockdown was eased.

Surprisingly, a massive 91.44 per cent of the respondents have reported that no one in their family or surroundings been infected from coronavirus despite the figures going into lakhs of cases.

The sample size could have a majority of the samples (people) who appreciate ideology of those running the nation. It is evident that there is a serious lapse in management of the COVID-19 situation whilst banging plates and heads . Corruption is Evident in every corner of the nation with the paid media trying to divert the citizens attention with unrelated topics . Hope is for people to wake up, see the injustice taking place in front of them and make a wise decision with their fingers when the time arrives

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign trips cost roughly $280 million (2,000 crore), while $640 million (about 4,500 crore) was spent on government ads in the past four-and-a-half years

His personal image maker has cost India so much so that, roughly, is the cost of four Rafale fighter jets.
It could have paid for 41 lakh kids' education. It would take Rs 1,807.92 crore to feed the entire population of India (approximately 133.92 crore in 2017) and that too would just be 60.5% of Rs 2,989 crore. We could feed 82.4 % of India two such meals. fulfill almost 27,676 aspiring engineers' dream to study in IIT, free of cost.

In particular, Germany and New Zealand have handled the crisis effectively. Both countries have not wavered from a science-based approach and strong, centralized messaging. The Women-Led Nations Doing Better With Covid-19 and PM Modi name not even surface among them.

In PM Modi's India Instead of hand-washing, a hands-off approach asking the citizens taali, thaali, diya and mombatti.

The parameters used by IANS-CVoter Covid-19 Tracker is not transparent. This survey is nothing but another paid exercise to boost PM Modi's image ahead of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh bye elections.

Such accurate numbers valid to the decimals 77.3%. I believe it. Soon we will be No.1 in highest number of Corona virus cases in the world. All credit goes to our PM Modi. Now Modi should also hold press conference to confirm his rating or ranting.
