Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 24: Noting that there has been an increasing incidence of providing false address and mobile phone numbers by the people, chief minister B S Yediyurappa, has asked the officials to make it mandatory to obtain voter ID, Aadhar card or other address proof documents along with OTP at the time of performing corona test.

The chief minister was speaking after holding meeting with in-charge ministers and officials of east, west and Yelahanka zones at his home office, 'Krishna' on Thursday July 23. He collected details about the infection control, treatment etc from them.

Out of about 39,000 people whose infection was confirmed in the city so far, about 4,500 could not be identified so far. The officials said that these people have remained untraceable as they have provided wrong details. Taking note of this seriously, the CM said that the address document, Aadhar card or some other document should be obtained at the time of conducting the test without tail. He also said that before obtaining samples, OTP number which the person gets should be collected.

"Boards meant to create awareness about corona infection should be installed in all the wards and it should be ensured that number of tests are increased, result is obtained within 24 hours and the infection gets reduced at the zonal level with each passing week. He wanted stern steps to be taken against officials and staff who do not get involved with infection control work. He also wanted graveyards and crematoriums to be identified for the funerals of the deceased.

Ministers Dr Ashwath Narayan, V Somanna, and S R Vishwanath, BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad and zonal coordinating officers were present. Manjunath Prasad said that teams headed by deputy commissioner of police at the rate one for each zone would be given the work of identifying the infected people who have provided false addresses and other details.

As usual a confused administration. If one has fever and no Aadhar Card they will not test him and in case he has Corona he will go and contaminate others.

My dear Dineshanna, I definitely agree with your points. But, if you don't treat these corona positive people, without any documents and leave them carelessly, will they don't move out in the society, market and everywhere and not spread the infection more putting the state into disastrous condition with a huge loss ??? Again state has to undergo one more phase.. Now, here too, our money only gets wasted na Dineshanna?? Instead, treat them and keep them under some laws and regulations... Ban their travel outside the district etc...Its possible to the government to exercise some rules with regard to these people... But, can't leave them untreated... .. Even in some of the villages, many have not done aadhar card yet....

Many are having more than one aadhar card Dineshanna.... What can be done to these people. Aadhar cards are issued to such people (on the basis of money) but, some of our localities didn't get the aadhar cards yet....

Your comment is right and appropriate. But, I do not agree with your comment that people have 2 aadhaar cards. The Aadhaar system has been devised in such a manner that it is not possible for a single person to obtain two Aadhaar numbers, because it is unique to a person and is tied to his biometric information which cannot be changed.
Still, I cannot challenge your comment, since anything is possible in India.

It is an open secret that there are thousands of people having more than one Aadhaar 'card' to enable tax evasion and money laundering.

Aadhaar has turned out to be the biggest government-run scam in independent India.

Contemporary India's greatest failure is that nobody has managed to bell the Aadhaar cat.
